There’s a wraith of a woman with ash in her teeth

But her sirens and songbirds sing elegantly

Through the thick air of morning night still in our eyes

The physical world is just light.


The hallway is less mountainous than it was before

Now starless the valley leads to a green door

The animals stay at least eight feet away

The moon is a stranger in bloom


A setting life, but her rising sign, is the darklit night

She returns home desperate and doomed


Deep in the Earth where it always stays cold

Down a staircase of diamonds that was built out of coal

A city of vapor that walks as it breaths

Compressing its soul into a sentient being


With knowledge to deep to let herself die

But that candle lit crime leaves her burnt and half blind

Surprised by a knock while check the time

In a harrowing tone, from a voice that is kind


A setting life, but her rising sign, is the darklit night

And it knocks, just as it looms


There’s a wraith of a woman so madly in love

With the world and she wants you to see her

The Sun on her face and the warmth of another

Is only a memory for nature’s great mother


Fow the physical light is now lethally bright

To a spirit not meant for this age

But she walks and she listens, and cares for this world

That she desperately hopes can be saved

When she blooms, to follow the moon.
